beautiful historic place in central NY
Solid place to stay - beautiful suites; one of the old grand hotels of central NY with lots of history with old dignitaries having stayed there. Central location. Breakfast is a little "weak" (tasted fine just a little small venue to have it).

Nice change from chain hotels
Overall our overnight stay was delightful. The building makes you feel as if you are in another century. The bed was extremely comfortable. We had dinner in the main dining room and it was very good, the prices were very reasonable. The downstairs tavern was lively and looked fun although we opted for the quieter dining room. Although no elevator, we were offered help with our bags. The continental breakfast was disappointing. There was a waffle maker, cold cereal and a small plate of pastries, toast, and English muffins and one flavor of yogurt. The notice in our room said no hot offerings due to covid. However, that seems like a cop out as there are two dining options onsite for lunch and dinner and covid seems to be a non issue now. We would stay again and would have liked to check out the town but we arrived late and had to leave early.
