think twice pack an extension lead!
The pictures lie! On arrival staff were welcoming and showed me to my room. This is where it all fell apart, the room was freezing cold so I turned the radiator on some time later it had not heated up so I went down for some dinner. I mentioned it to the staff and was told that’s strange we will have a look. Back at the room there was a knock at the door and the staff member was holding an electric radiator. Now the fun begins! I’ve only got 1 working plug on a double socket so do I use the heater charge my phone or work on my laptop. I chose the heat option and just didn’t do any work. The room was noisy with a drip/knocking sound on and off all night. I woke up feeling terrible, this was made worse by the state of the bathroom it was nothing like what the show off in the pictures! Spoke to the manger in the morning who really didn’t give me the impression she cared and all I got was sorry it’s only early October the heating isn’t turned on yet!! It was 4 degrees when I got in my car outside! I will not return and would advise all to think twice. Food wasn’t great even with them raving about homemade!

Very friendly staff - very accommodating with every need. Meals enormous (for us at least) but fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection. Bedrooms needs a revamp but bed comfortable and all linen exceptionally cclean and very white. If I’m the area we will definitely stay again. New owners who were very friendly, courteous and kind.

Happy Stay
The room we were given was comfortable and convenient. The only problem we had was parking the car, the hotel car park was full most of the time however there is a club next door so we parked in there.

We needed somewhere cost effective and close to our client's site, and The Lawns was available and was within the right price bracket. Rooms were not large, however I only ever need a bed. We ate in the restaurant, and I had soup and a sandwich. Pleasant and decent value. Staff were very friendly and professional. Somehow I managed to "steal" the remote, which I posted back today, but it was taken in good humour. Would be nice to have the bathrooms refurbed, and a bigger TV and perhaps screw down some floorboards in adjoining rooms, but for the money I was pleased. Will stay again.

Stayed for work, 2 consecutive weeks in June as unfortunately I could not cancel the 2nd week without having to pay in full as I left it too late. I stayed in the self contained 2nd floor studio during the recent heat wave. The room was filthy and the 1st thing I did was clean down the surfaces and glass table, the throws on the bed and worn tatty sofa bed needed to be removed and burnt. There is a kitchen but don’t plan on cooking anything as there is one small pan and a frying pan, no spoons to stir, no glasses, no stained, no can opener.. etc etc There were toothpaste stains in the glasses in the bathroom on arrival. There was WiFi in the ‘Wendy house’ as they call it but after asking for the code 4 times and no one knowing it, I gave up (the one in the welcome guide is out of date) I went over to the pub for breakfast a couple of the mornings I stayed and the food wasn’t bad but having to listen to the staff complain about how many rooms needed cleaning (or not cleaning in my rooms case) I though I would leave them too it. The room was sweltering and there was no AC and no fan, meaning I had to leave all the windows open to listening to the cackling of drunken women most nights until 11:30pm On the 2nd week I ended up taking my own stuff for the kitchen and a fan. Before writing this review on here I left one for the hotel itself in correspondence from them however they never responded.
