Not Just a Capsule Hotel - Great Location
This is a capsule hotel, but with more than just your standard little single "pod". Each room has a small desk, room safe, chair and the standard TV inside the sleeping area. Rooms are not accessible from 10am to 3pm - which is fine - who wants to be in a capsule room during the day. The cleanliness of all the facilities was fantastic and could not be faulted. The staff were great and one went above and beyond when we found we had left some property of very significant sentimental value at the Edo Museum. She contacted the museum and arranged for us to be able to collect it first thing the next morning for which we were very grateful. One singular draw back is that the public bath facilities on the 8th floor are for males only - which sort of annoyed my female travelling companion.

Just a bit more security then it'd be perfect!
Amazing as in how complete the supplies are, I could have brought nothing to the cabin but be well suited! The only downside is that I couldn't lock my own cabin, even though the room of cabins can only be accessed by the card, I didn't feel safe of my belongings when I'm gone for a shower. Other than that, everything was perfectly good.

Nice spot for budget conscious - uncomfortable bed
Overall this was a nice place to stay for a quick night and trying to be budget conscious. I liked this a little more than the typical capsule hotel because you get a little personal space in addition to the sleeping area, with a little desk and area to put luggage or hang things. My main complaints about this place are two-fold. One is a few of the others guests were really loud and seemed unaware that the sound traveled easily. At 2am two guys outside my "room" were having a normal volume discussion in Japanese as if they were in their own hotel room or something. My other complaint is the beds are extremely uncomfortable because they are basically pieces of foam on a wood board/frame. The foam/mattress is very soft so you are basically sleeping on a wood board. If they used Japanese futons the beds would be much nicer. It seems like they considered everything else but didn't leave enough budget for the mattresses.

Clean and relaxing cabin
Staying at Global Cabin Gotanda was a rewarding experience. This cabin is not only a bed style cabin, you also have privacy and enough room for yourself. The cabin is clean and spacious. The facilities are impeccable polished and well organized. The public bath in the eighth floor is a traditional Japanese bath. They provide all the necessary toiletries and clothes to make your staying more pleasant. The only negative aspect about this place is the check in time, which is 5:00 pm. They also ask you to leave the cabin from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you don't mind that I would highly recommend this place if you want to experience a cabin. Btw, the morning smoothie is delicious and it is made of real fruit.
