2/10 Poor

Overpriced & uncomfortable
If you are looking for comfort and good guest services go elsewhere. The heater in our room started making loud noises in the middle of the night. We heard the people in the room next door up from the same issues. Guest services said they would tell maintenance in the morning. After not sleeping for most of the night and being irritated with lack of consideration from staff my husband drove up to main inn to complain in person. They switched our room. At 5am we were moving all of our stuff to the 3rd floor, with no elevator available. The only thing the front desk attendent said when I mentioned the move was "ya i heard about that'' then she gave me 2 coffees on the house. No real apology or offer to make up for the situation. Quite a pricey lack of sleep night. The inn was 78-80 degrees the full weekend. Beds were very uncomfortable. There is nothing available in the rooms. No coffee maker, hair dryer, toiletries, phone, clock, etc.... If you want coffee in the morning you have to get in your car and drive up the hill to the main building. Overall a highly overpriced place to stay to not be able to sleep.

Historical hotel with golf course
Love this old place. The history here is awesome. The room is plenty large enough. Refrig included. Service by the owners and employees is awesome.

4/10 Fair

Overpriced
Exceptionally poor value. Terrible beds. No sheet, just blanket. The loudest air-conditioning imaginable. No blackout curtains. No point in going on. For 1/3 the price, it would be ok.

6/10 Good

night on our way to South West Harbor , Maine
We knew the resort was old. Any cleaners or employees we met were very helpful and pleasant. The room in the Presidential Inn probably had been upgraded decades ago. Metal camp cots, old floor, glazing on window cracked and peeling. Very low toilet and an insert of fiberglass over the shower area. This is only one of their lodging places on the resort, so others may have been better updated, but assigned to a third floor room with probably 50 plus BIG stairs to climb by Hotels.com. To the resort's credit they warned me that the location had no accessible bathrooms and a lot of stairs. Phone number in lobby (unattended) to call for luggage help. Didn't try$12.50 breakfast or any food or snacks. Room quiet. Building has" game room".This might be a good vacation week for people with toddlers or pre adolescent children ; there is a pool somewhere on property. Country side is lovely and good hiking nearby I think. Cyndi's restaurant nearby could be used for meals, but it would add up for a family.
