Good stay
My friend and I got the Family Room (1 queen, 1 double, 1 twin) for $110 CAD/night Likes: -friendly and helpful staff booked us the sloth tour and one explained how to take the local public bus to the cloud forest (cheaper than the $6USD/person for the shuttle they offer) -quiet area -huge room; lots of space for our backpacks. -beds were comfy -free breakfast (3 options: typical, eggs+toast, pancakes) -microwave (+plates/cutlery), mini fridge & coffee maker Dislikes: -no hot water in the kitchen and washroom sink -only hot water 1/4 times in the shower -lighting at night time was very dim -lighting in the washroom at all times very dim -no sign to leave outside the door to indicate you don’t want cleaning service daily -washroom needs more shelving and hooks -no ceiling fan as advertised, however there was a portable fan -there was only one garbage can -coffee maker, but no coffee/tea or sugar (however, during breakfast we asked for a couple of teabags to take up to our room) -kitchen didn’t have a sponge/dish soap to wash any dishes used -kitchen didn’t have towel or paper towel to dry your hands Random comments: -odd the fridge wasn’t plugged in before we arrived -for some reason there were a lot of dead bugs outside our door each morning -about a 5 minute walk into town, but very hilly

The owners and staff are very humble and friendly! They were eager to help with a smile. The paintings on the wall of Costa Rica scenery were uplifting and the small garden and patio was a nice place to relax in. We enjoyed the plentiful breakfast and plate of fruits. Overall good value for the money - I highly recommend this accommodation in Monteverde

Nice hotel
We enjoyed the "cabin" with the small kitchenette. We were able to cook a simple meal there. The room was big. The breakfast was good. Our only issue was that it was very windy, so that was a little noisy and disconcerting. We could walk to the town.
