Temple Bar Apartments from the Key Collection -
Temple Bar area is a good location as far as walking around the city and getting to Trinity College, the Dublin Castle with lots of restaurants and shopping. But, in my opinion it is an area for young adults. My booking was for a one bedroom (queen bed) with a sofa bed in the living room so that my granddaughter and I would not have to sleep together. Our apartment in the Wooden Building on Exchange Street was not particularly comfortable. It was located next to a bar, which on the weekends played very loud music from about 9 pm - 3 am. I ran into an issue when I asked the staff for sheets for the sofa bed, (which was not a sofa bed at all, just a faux leather couch in the shape of an L) I was firmly and rather forcefully informed by 2 different staff members that sheets would not be supplied since the sofa bed was not for sleeping?? I asked to speak to the manager and he was not available. This is the first time I have rented an apartment and learned that you will not receive the same type of service as you do in a hotel (at least from the Temple Bar Collection folks). The keys were nearly impossible to use -- thank goodness my granddaughter figured it out or I would still be trying to get in. I had to almost beg for more towels. We were given 2 bath towels to use for the 2 of us for the entire week.. There is no concierge so you are on your own if you have any questions about the city, how to get around, etc.
