This was the worst hotel during my 2 weeks in Sri Lanka!
I arrived very late at night (all direct flights from HK will arrive after midnight), and there was 2hr delay. I emailed the hotel before my flight to confirm that i will arrive late at night.
I asked about the price for airport pick up before, but I had my own driver, so I didn't need at end.
When arrived at the hotel, it was completely dark. I tried to call the hotel, no one picked up. The office was closed and dark. After 10min, someone called back. My driver talked to the owner in their own language, so my driver translated their conversation to me after.
The owner told my driver that the hotel sent a driver to the airport and waited until midnight and I didn't show up, so they left. But my original flight wont arrive until midnight, not to mention that I emailed them about my delay already. And I didn't tell them to pick me up anyways.
And, the owner told our driver that the hotel was fully booked! I booked 2 x triple rooms for 4 adults. How can he overbooked?! Even he thought we didn't show up (which was a lie), I dont believe someone will walk in after midnight and took our rooms anyways.
He said he will come back from his party to help us, but he called back after another 15min and said he found us another hotel (quite far away) and when we arrived, the new hotel was told that we only had 3 adults and need 1 triple room, and no more room. So he gave us a staff room only, which wasn't what I paid for.
