Older motel , some upgrades , room was clean the bed comfortable , shower hot , very good for a basic room if you aren’t looking for a fancy hotel with a pool
Clean, quiet, not many issues. Good place if you want away from everyone.
Not so bad for one night
There's potholes all over in parking lot. beds were very uncomfortable. the headboards were loose made noise every time a person moved. will never stay there again
This property is discriminatory, the staff is ignorant, and in violation of several human rights as well as health act violations. My experience with this property will be submitted to the Alberta Human Rights Commission and Health Services.
Not much, basic motel, mattresses were not comfy, can feel lotsnof springs, hair all over my bedding and floors. Need bigger door matts and bath matts.. homeless hangout around the motel often. Bath towels didnt smeel to clean. Over pricedfor what you get. Free muffins and drjnks were alright..
It was sub-par with an old style heater (steamheat). I used a facecloth to stand on in the shower and there was NO hot water! The bed was about 3 inches off the ground, and the bedding was cheap.
The bed was just plain uncomfortable. I could not adjust the room temperature. But the room was very clean The front desk girl was just awesome she was so pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect for my visit to the city.
We stayed at the Thriftlodge Grande Prairie in January 2020, the temperature was around -25. The front window to the outside did not close properly, you couldn't lock it either and there was a gap at the top letting cold air in. The front door had a 2cm gap at the bottom, we had to pile up snow up outside on the doorstep to stop the cold air coming in. The heating didn't work at all well and made this terrible rumbling noise most of the night (like a truck parked outside), we had to get a heater (and it was ancient) from the office to try to keep us warm (it barely coped). The bed had a sheet and a thin bedspread on it, we had to get more blankets to keep warm. The window in the bathroom was supposed to be double glazed, but one of the inner slider sections was missing, and because of this a wooden stick was holding the inner slider shut - the bathroom was freezing. The whole place and stay was absolutely terrible, and the worst place we've ever stayed in. The pictures don't show how budget this 'Thriftlodge' actually is. However, the staff were nice.
