Great hotel
Wonderful stay at this hotel, great location to get to the train station for our bus travel to the airport and from our stay in Lake Garda. Shower was great and bed really comfy, despite being next to main road, the glazing on the windows was so good we couldn’t hear the traffic. Couldn’t seem to get the air con to work in our room and woke up at 2am rather warm so opened the window, that was the only issue!

The room was very spacious and clean, with a big bathroom and comfortable bed. In close proximity to the main piazza, about a 5 - 10 minute walk into the heart of Verona. It was about a 15 minute walk to the train station. Very convenient for our one-night stop in Verona.

The hotel, once inside, was lovely. It was clean and pleasant and the staff were friendly and very helpful (particular thanks to Milka for pointing out the places of interest to us on a map and to Joaquin for looking after us at breakfast!) We walked up and down the street a few times and googled photos of the exterior of the hotel before finding it! The downstairs courtyard wasn’t a great look and it’s not clear where to go. But up the stairs to the first floor (or take the lift) and you are at reception. The hotel was very clean and well presented. Our room was spacious and the power shower was fabulous. The air conditioning was welcome as it was still warm in October. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room but no milk was provided so we bought some from the local shop. There wasn’t a bottle opener in the room either but we were able to borrow one from reception. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Relais Empire. We explored a lot so the train station was handy being only a 10 minute walk away. Piazza Bra was only a short walk in the opposite direction so the hotel is well placed for exploring Verona and nearby cities.

The rooms are a bit on the small side but quite nice and what I'd call quirky. Our room had an excellent double shower. plenty of hot water. Very Italian in decor so make you feel there. It's quite an old building which we liked. Reception desk was very helpful. Breakfast room is quite small and we had to wait a few minutes to sit down. Break fast could be better.
