Good hotel central to shopping and restaurants
Staff not trained. Place dirty. No staff on at night. Noisy guests. No one to report to.
the location was great but the hotel is just in very poor condition and it just felt dirty
It is quite old. It is clean. There are no outlets in the washroom for shaving or a hair blower.
Very convenient location and staff helpful and friendly
Held by the church, it's a discust to own. Unclean, unsutisfectory in both amenities and supplies (or bed, linen, towels...)
Cheerful staff at reception. The room was clean. Run down feel to the place. The toilet was phantom flushing all night. No reception / signal on TV.
the old saying ... ‘you get what you pay for’ ....DOES NOT APPLY.. cuz What YOU WILL PAY FOR is not what you will get’ simply put .. its dirty and worn out’’ desperation will allow for the justification to stay in this place’ really at best this is a $50. room’ at best’
This place is somewhere we won't be staying again. It is very run down.
There really isn’t much to choose from for hotels in Port Hardy. We had been on the Inside Passage ferry all day and evening and arrived at midnight at the hotel. Staff waits for the latecomers off the ferry before shutting down the desk for the night. Two of us arrived on motorcycles and were too tired to care about the facilities though if my wife had been along there would have been a difficult conversation about this selection. The last update seemed to be in about 1985, though the room carpet seemed newer. The single pane aluminum window was opened a crack for ventilation and window security was accomplished with the trusty “stick in the track” method. There was no air conditioner unit in the room, there was a small bar fridge and microwave oven in the corner. The tv was a huge classic RCA model from way back. The mattresses were tired but still reasonably comfortable, though my sheet had a hole in it. The bathroom was equally awesome with a nearly plugged sink drain, a tub and shower that only “showered”, and thin rough towels. We checked out at 7:30 the next morning and the front desk was still unoccupied. We left the key in a lockbox at the desk. As negative as this review is, you simply don’t have much to choose from in Port Hardy. If you’re getting off the ferry at midnight and need a place before moving in the next morning, it works ok. Just keep your expectations down. Breakfast at the Market Street cafe a couple of minutes away is a good pick.
