Not the Room we booked
First of all, we did not receive the room/apartment that we booked. The room was very different from the pictures posted on line. Room was dark and smelled like mildew and we were attacked by mosquitoes all night long. It supposed to be a bed and "breakfast"----the host left us some yogurt and milk in the fridge and packed pastries in a basket. The lady that checked us in was nice and friendly and gave us good information. I will never stay here again

Can be better
The owner was very accommodating. The place looks great and is near the tourist spots. However, the owner charged the card I used to book the room when I specifically chose “pay at the property”. I don’t know if it has something to do with the policy between her b&b and Also, we left early for our train ride to Rome and there’s a note in her house that says “we can tell the management if we are leaving early so they can pack our breakfast”. So we called the night before but the lady whom I talked to said she can’t come before 7 am.

Room for improvement
The check in was not great--had to chase down the owner and waited over 25 minutes to get in. Place was not easy to find and there was confusion as to which apartment we had reserved--we carried two suitcases up 5 flights of stairs only to find out we were on the bottom floor and had to go back down. The apartment was dark and a little damp. While there was a full kitchen there were limited items useful for cooking and no information on where to find places to purchase food to cook. Would have been helpful to have a guide book of where to find grocery store/market, recommended places to eat, map of the area so as not to get lost, etc.

Great stay in Venice
Excellent service. Very comfortable room. AC was nice during our stay. The morning breakfast was really delicious, the croissants especially. Easy to get to with the public boat Alilaguna.

Very disappointing!!!
I drove to Venice & by the time I found the apartment was around 7:30 p.m. I rang the door bell & no answer. I didn't have access to my phone or internet at the time, so I didn't know what to do. Eventually I was able to ask a neighbor to call Chiara who said she had tried to contact me and I didn't respond so I had to wait 20 minutes for her to come to open the door for me (I later checked & she had emailed me that same morning to ask me what time I was arriving). 1/2 an hour later this other lady comes... wasn't friendly, but she wasn't mean either. She showed me a small basket with packets of mini toast and a couple of mini boxes of cereals and told me that it was my breakfast. My reservation included breakfast... was that really it???? I can get past my check in, but what really disappointed me was the room. I feel this was a bait and switch type of situation. I chose this place because the pictures showed rooms with lots of light and green walls... What I got was an apartment on the first floor (no stairs, yay!!) but it was really dark in there. Nothing like the pictures. There was a TV the size of a notebook... the laptop I'm using right now is bigger than that TV. The worst part? NO A/C. We had a fan, but it was so hot and humid that we had to keep our windows open and become meals to all the mosquitoes there. The walls in the bathroom had mold in the corners. I have to admit the location was great, but I will never stay here again!!!

Very pleasant
It was great to be met at the water bus quai by Martina who took us to the B&B; the streets are a maze there. The place is on the 3rd floor and no elevator so be prepared. We liked that we got our own set of keys to the apartment. Our room was very spacious and so was the bathroom. Some toiletries are provided but pack or buy your own. The good thing is that a supermarket (Coop) is close by. The room service is limited (by request) but always very responsive and to us it was sufficient. The A/C was very strong (in the summer). No idea about the heat. One improvement I’d suggest is to offer more pastries for breakfast; they were delicious but not enough for everyone). There are some restaurants in the area but even if not, Venice is so small, everything is within up to a 20 minutes walk.

Authentic Venetian Neighbourhood and Charm
My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights while we visited Murano for a conference. We had the double room with ensuite (bathroom) on the 4th floor. The walk up was nice with 4 sets of locked doors for security (no elevator). The simple room was spacious with windows that looked out at a park and down at a canal which was wonderful. The foam bed was firm which we find comfortable. The woman who met us the first day was very nice! It is in a residential area that is a five minute walk to the vaporetto to Murano which we needed to do daily. We enjoyed the less touristed streets that were empty at night. We felt totally safe and there were charming cafe and bars on some of the corners that were open late. The breakfast was very good with baked items and delicious coffee! It was available though for only 1 hour starting at 8:30 AM. It was a little late for us as some mornings we had to leave early and missed having a coffee first thing. Perhaps the owner could leave a coffee machine out at night so the early risers could have something before they leave for the day? We only ever saw anyone else here on our arrival day and at breakfast so it was very private. I would recommend staying here.
