The hotel is 5 mind from the airport and right in the center of Alajuela, yet it's a quite oasis. The hosts are great! They're friendly, polite and helpful and love to share tips about the area and CR. The buffet breakfast was basic but ok: ham, "cheese" slices, toasts, fruit, cereal, coffee and oj. The premises, as well as the Rooms were clean and welcoming, although walls are thin and we had ear plugs in at all times due to noisy air con in our neighbor's room (we didn't use ours). The bathroom was of a good size and had a good shower. The rooms could do with a spruce up, yet there's nothing wrong with them. Lots of lovely, colourful paintings of tropical flowers made by the lady host are dotted around. Free orange taxi from the airport ($5) was meant to be refunded, as offered by the owner (our taxi driver wouldn't get into the hotel to get his payment so we had to pay him), but this didn't happen for some reasons. The pool was lovely and clean and it was oh so nice to chill there after a day out. This place is in a strategic location for traveling around central CR and in a nice, typical town away from grotty San Jose. I'd be happy to visit again.
