The mountain view on the balcony is absolutely breathtaking.
Loved staying here for the short time we spent in Puerto Galera. The free transportation to the beach and port was really nice, also the food was excellent! Loved the hike to the nearby falls and our guide was really nice. Thank you!
Owen and his lovely wife, Maying, have built a most lovely small resort in the hills over looking the White Beach area. The views from the restaurant are stunning. In back of the hotel is a huge valley and the mountains on the other side. Every employee went out of their way to make my trip enjoyable. During your stay if you have time, please check out his Tribal Hills Adventure Park for a unique experience. Another cool thing to do is to visit the nearby Mangyan Village. My favorite thing about this resort other than the people was the brewed coffee in the mornings while peacefully overlooking the ocean below. Plan to be in the restaurant for the amazing sunsets..
It’s a very nice hotel. The dogs barking at 6.30 a.m are a bit annoying.
The resort offered free shuttle transfers to nearby places which we found very helpful. It also offered transfers to and from the ferry which was also very useful. The restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was always spot on. The reception staff were incredibly helpful both before and during the stay providing me with information to assist with the travel to the island.
Staff is super-friendly and helpful, and food is great. Owner even invited us to a party at his home on Christmas eve! My fiancée and I had a wonderful time.
Great location for families who want to enjoy tranquil mountain views, beautiful beaches & fresh seafood. The facilities at Tribal Hills allow fun & excitement for all ages. The pool & spa can be enjoyed by all & for those who like a little adventure i reccomend the ATV experience. Staff are always polite & helpful. One of the best family friendly island getaways that i have experienced.
Friendly service. Not much to do in the area but a good place to stay before leaving/arriving from Batangas Port.
We loved everything about this hotel and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We were fortunate to have a corner room (#15) with a huge terrace that offered views on one side of the water and beautiful sunsets, and on the other of the steep mountains and dense forests of Mindoro Oriental. I was worried that being up on the mountainside we would have trouble getting to the beach, but there were always two drivers on call and they took us to the main beaches and picked us up again whenever we asked. We ate all our meals from the hotel kitchen--mostly in our room because our terrace was such a beautiful place to dine al fresco. Every meal we ate was delicious, and the servings were so generous that one lunch would feed us for two meals. The two women serving in the dining room were very congenial and friendly as were the ladies in the office and the drivers. The place had the atmosphere of a happy and well run community. Probably due to Owen, the British owner who built the place and with whom we had several fun and conversations. The pool was clean and refreshing. If you go to Puerto Galera be sure to visit the village of the Iraya Mangyan at Talipanan, across from the far end of Aninuan beach (the best beach.) These are the local indigenous people, some of whom still live in their traditional ways deep in the mountains above. Their woven handicrafts are beautifully made, inexpensive and make the best gifts I have seen in the Philippines.
good shuttle service
