A lovely stay. The Refuge Inn was comfortable and cozy. It was very close to the Bike Depot, the Chincoteague Museum and local restaurants, as well the bridge to Assateague. A perfect spot.

Excellent location and hotel
We stayed mid May, Sunday - Tuesday. The property is very clean and well maintained. They are very organized, extremely nice and run everything smoothly! Our room had a good size small refrigerator and coffee/hot water pot. The hotel also has self serve coffee near the front desk and laundry machines on each floor. The pool is a good size, upper sun deck is a nice spot to spend time. They have approximately 5 ponies on site that you can feed grain which is available at the front desk and was fun. Bike rental is next to the hotel. The hotel is located just outside the Assateague Park entrance which is very convenient. If you plan on going to the park and walk on the trails make sure you have plenty of bug spray and use it liberally! Mosquitos are part of the wetland environment and can be intense. We really enjoyed our stay. I’m guessing that during peak season when more families visit it will be much more crowded and active but it was a very relaxing, enjoyable stay for us this time of year.
