What a great stay!
What an amazing experience. Location was super convenient, we rented a car and the drop off location was right there. The owner was really sweet! The decoration is amazing, it makes you forget that you’re in San Jose. Airport is close by so you can hear the airplanes but ear plugs were provided.

Lot of noise
The service is great. The breakfast was good and the outdoor patio was very charming. But the noise is not a joke. It's loud being close to the highway and airport. The walls would shake sometimes in the middle of the night just because of that. Very difficult to sleep and I live next to a train station at home.

AWESOME Value - Stay Here!
Where do I begin? I wish I stayed at the hotel for much longer. Great staff. FANTASTIC value for the location and it was 5 minutes away from the airport. I didn't wanna go back to Costa Rica because of my bad experiences during my stay, but staying at the hotel changed my mind and I can't wait until I go back and take my friends! :)

Very Unique!
Staying at Casa Anitgua is a unique experience! If you are looking for something other than a typical hotel, this will not disappoint. Small and intimate, the 12 rooms are somewhat individualized and the lobby and garden areas are a feast for anyone appreciating art, fashion, fabrics, Persion culture, metal and woodworking. The owner goes above and beyond as does his lovely morning assistant who is sweet and attentive in providing a lovely breakfast. A taxi was arranged as was recommendation for a local dinner just a few steps away. The hotel expresses and shares the owners values and beliefs of sharing, providing, and appreciating. The airport is not even 5 minutes from the front door. Planes can be heard overhead, but if you taking them in like rolling thunder, you can sleep quit well. Oh, and Pishu, the Persian cat, is a lovely living addition to the ambience.

Really convenient location, close to the airport. Owners are extremely accommodating; they arranged our taxi for us and gave us helpful tips for returning our rental the night before so we didn't get caught up in morning traffic. They also provided us with an earlier breakfast to start our day since we had to be at the airport before normal breakfast hours. I really enjoyed learning the history of the building and wished I had arrived a bit earlier in the day to enjoy the pool area. As others have said, you can hear the traffic and airplanes, however I didn't find this to be any different from staying in a bustling city location and was happy to be close to the airport and supporting the locals/small business owners. I am not a heavy sleeper and did not need to use the provided ear plugs, neither did my son. Beds were comfortable, wifi was great - no hiccups when uploading work files or streaming movies and unlike other places we stayed at, we didn't repeatedly get booted off. My favorite things about this place aside from the convenient location is the wonderful decor/historical pics/handcrafted furnishings, the cute persian cat, and the friendliness of the owners/staff who did way more than expected by offering personalized services. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. They also served the best papaya I have ever tasted.
