Go for the courtyard
Good location and facilities (the rooftop bar is well worth visiting), with a young and enthusiastic staff. Rooms are small, but use the available space well and are clean. The more expensive city view rooms don’t reduce the significant NYC noise to an appreciable extent, the views are not especially memorable either. Courtyard rooms are much quieter and better values as a result.

The staff & condition of the rooms/beds are excellent. What I’ve noticed after multiple stays are the increasing disruptive guests who decide to smoke weed & play loud music throughout the night & though security knocks on their door the chaos continues! People pay $ for a nice/relaxing getaway & having to deal with loud potheads isn’t a good look for a hotel that wants good reviews & a good reputation.

Not the best there are better hotels
The room itself is nice except for the fact once i pulled the comforter off there was red stains on the sheets. This obviously disgusted me which led me unsure if the room was cleaned even though it had the clean sticker on it. I ended up getting new sheets so it was fine. But what really stood out is the fact that they make you pay a $100 deposit that will be refunded back to you. But when you’re in the lobby this price is a shock to everyone. The hotel needs to be more upfront about this deposit they make everyone put down. It’s not right to have it as a surprise. I am very disappointed because i wanted to love this place but it is not worth the price. There are better places in the city.

What it's like staying at Arlo during quarantine
I've stayed at Arlo a few times and it's been getting progressively worse. I asked for a few hand towels and never got any. I asked for a room spray because it smelled like weed (probably from a neighboring room) and none of the staff helped. Also upon arrival, the bath soap and shampoo in the shower was empty. For the price/night, it's hard to beat, but wish they'd try harder. They don't clean your room btw due to the pandemic unless you stay at least 4 nights.
