Beautiful and unique
The hotel is very unique as it used to be a church. They carried a lot of its history through to the new decor. The food outlets are outstanding. My only complaint, that as a business traveler, the internet cut out pretty often while I was working. I informed the front desk at checkout and was told “yeah, it’s spotty”.

Oops no sorry!
The fire alarm went off at 6:15sm one morning. We evacuated but there was no hotel employee around to tell us to go back to our room or really where to exit We didn’t know to exit the stairs at 1 or G. We w Ed my in to the front desk from a side garage and there was only one front desk person who said oops!said sorry. And offered a breakfast when they opened. Bad mergency plan.

Great style; substance needs work.
Aesthetically beautiful, but still a few kinks to work out with respect to hotel service. The space is gorgeous, and you can tell that no detail was spared with respect to design, look, and feel. However it appears that all efforts were concentrated in the restaurant/bar concepts, and less energy was devoted to the hotel guest experience. Calling guest services with basic requests resulted in being connected to the front desk attendant, who explained that he needed to "find someone to cover the front desk while he ran up the items I requested;" I also noticed a room service tray remain outside the door in my hallway from 8pm until the following day. Finally, the functionality of the bathroom was less than ideal; no cold water came from the sink - it came out piping hot for about 20 seconds, only cooling to a lukewarm-to-warm temperature, which was less than ideal for drinking water, washing my face, or brushing my teeth. The shower also leaked water on the floor. If you value style over substance, this is a great hotel; otherwise, the Line has a bit of work to do on the hotel side to elevate this to compete with other hotels in D.C. at its price point.
