Choose the chalets
On a trip to Nova Scotia we stopped in at the inn on the way, and while the room was okay, in the morning we noticed the chalets which are individual cabins. On our return trip, we booked a chalet, and while like the rooms they are dated, we found them cosy with the bonus of a kitchenette for the same price.

A Great Place to Stay on Cape Breton!
Our 2-night stay at The Iona Heights Inn was such a pleasure! An older motel that has been renovated into a very nice property. The inn is reasonably priced with nice clean updated rooms, a fantastic pub, the only liquor store for miles around, and to top it off, Jill's Chocolates on site. The Jill! Our second floor room had a balcony that overlooked beautiful Bras d'Or Lake with 2 chairs and a table. A fantastic view! The room was quite comfortable and had all the amenities you need. Walk to the Folk and Frolic Pub on premises and enjoy a friendly and active pub with excellent drinks and food. We ate there twice for dinner and were not disappointed at all. Walk to Jill's on premises and she'll cook up a nice breakfast sandwich (egg, ham, and cheese), bake fresh muffins, and other goodies. The inn is centrally located on Cape Breton about 30 minutes to Baddeck where the Cabot Trail begins and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Actually, right next door to the inn is the Highland Village Museum (which unfortunately we missed). The next time we visit Cape Breton, this will be the place we stay...without a doubt!

The Iona Heights Inn
We stayed at the inn one night on our vacation. The rooms are nicely renovated and clean. My biggest complaint was the lack of air conditioning. They did provide a fan for the room but it was a very hot night. They don't have cable tv but do have access to netfilx, etc through a roku stick. It is right next to the highland village museum which we enjoyed and the views of the bras d'or lakes are beautiful.

Perfect place to stay
The Iona Heights Inn was the perfect place to stay, the hotel room was very nice, the food at the pub was great and the little bake shop on site was terrific. The tv was internet based so was hard to stream some channels but other than that everything was great.
