Nice place
This was my second stay at this hostel and I was glad to be back! People here are friendly and kind. The only one thing I don’t like about this hostel is bed. Mattress is ok but every time you make a move on the bed, and no matter how small it is, it makes a squeaky sound and it is loud. Even college dorm room has better one.

Definitely a must stay if visiting Santa Monica
This hostel is wonderful. A block away from the beach, very clean and a great place to meet people from all over the world. I was a single female traveler who never stayed in this type of setting before but felt comfortable the whole time. Private rooms are definitely worth the price. Participate in the activities you won't be sorry. Hostel staff top notch. The only downside to this hotel is when they are cleaning one floors bathroom they are cleaning all the floors bathrooms so you have to go to the two single bathrooms by the lobby where ever other guest is waiting.

Good hostel & staff
This is is a well run hostel with a professional staff. Some reviews mention lack of a welcome, and although the staff who checked me in wasn't effusive with smiles, he was friendly enough. I could tell he was busy and managing all the guests efficiently must be a lot to handle. So I completely understand the staff not smiling or talking much. The rooms and common areas were clean enough with excellent, very clean bathrooms, plenty of toilets, and private shower stalls, that looked surprisingly nice. I only stayed one night, because I booked a hotel for my trip. I'd never stayed at a hostel so not knowing what to expect, I showered before I came, and left the next morning. It would have been fine to shower here though. The sleeping situation wasn't for me, although if you don't mind hostels, it could be fine. In the first room there was a girl coughing and I was worried about breathing that in all night, especially with the corona virus spreading. The front desk told me I could change rooms once, and luckily in the new room, no one was coughing. But one of the girls was snoring, so I couldn't sleep. I didn't mind this as much as the chance of catching someone's flu or virus, but it wasn't the best. One good thing was that guests get a good sized locker, and it fit my large suitcase. If you don't mind sharing a room with 5 or more people, you might like this place. It seems to be one of the better hostels and the girls in both rooms seemed very nice.

Clean and quiet. It has a good condition. One thing is not easy is to move. Because there is only one elevator. Except this, it’s close from the beach, located in downtown and clean.

Bed linens had sone marks. Check in was not smooth I was already waiting to check in service, and the group of girls interrupted and I had to wait for them. The communicat ion was, somehow was not smooth with the concierge.

Good 6.0
It was a nice and clean hostel where there the beach and downtown Santa Monica are very accessible. However, I dont feel that well about the unfriendly attitude that was given from the receptionist while i was checking-in on 11:30 am on Nov.28. I had the roommate also got the same experiences while doing her checking-in. Also, if it is necessary to charge extra USD 4/ per night, it is important to share this information on website rather than me finding out on-site.
