Even the hotel is a bit dated outside, the room was very spacious and clean. The view was amazing. Unfortunately the poolbar is only open at the weekends.
Nice hotel that is close enough to the action without being too much in the crowds. Do not use google map for directions though.
Rooms are not well maintained and wifi harderly worked inside the room, strong smell of gas. The hotel overall is nice and updated only the rooms need a little work.
What a wonderful place to go an stay at. Very comfortable an super nice people that work there. It’s a top of mountain that overlooks the whole town.
Great place to stay, really good price and close to everything. The ocean view was amazing and the service was great. They just opened back again about two weeks ago, so there were some things that were not perfect and the team was still trying to figure it out, but overall was a great experience.
The staff in the front desk always have attitude.
I loved that all the rooms had an ocean view! I loved that the restaurant was situated outdoors, with a great view facing the ocean and that the hotel offered free breakfast every morning; actual breakfast with eggs, fruit, pancakes etc! I loved the hotel pool area, serene and beautiful with an in pool bar! I loved that the hotel had a free shuttle that took you to the city of Tamarindo and to a free beach club right on the beach!
It's "Wyndham on the hill" so- you're not downtown and you're not near the beach. It's quiet, but you'll need a car, the free Wyndham shuttle which stops service at 7:00 PM, or a $6 taxi ride. All rooms are ocean view. Beds were comfortable. Nice pool with swim up bar.
Our initial experience at the hotel was not that great. I called the hotel a week before to make special arrangements regarding our room when we checked in we weren’t provided with what was requested and promised, however Brian at the front desk quickly made up for it. The room we were changed to had a beautiful view and the bed was a lot more comfortable. We ate at the restaurant at the hotel that night and the food was great the view from the restaurant was beautiful. Overall the people were nice except one guy at the front desk I felt wasn’t pleasant when we spoke with him or asked questions. Raruel from the restaurant was so nice and helpful for breakfast and dinner, the free breakfast by the way was good there just wasn’t many options in my opinion. The shuttle from the hotel is very convenient it goes to the beach house and into town. It’s free and the male driver was also full of life and super helpful, he recommended a restaurant our last night there and the food was amazing. Overall the stay was good. We would stay again without the confusion from our first night there.
The hotel is up on a hill and as such, each room has breathtaking views of the beach. While the town i just a 3 minute car ride away, because of where the hotel is situated, along with the road conditions, it makes for quite a challenging walk.
