Just like every time I stay there, yeah my check in took less than 5 minutes with Cassandra at front desk.
We only stayed for one night but the room was perfect and the restaurant food was excellent.
Overall the stay was comfortable and relaxed after busy day at work. Room was spacious and cleaned everyday. Not good internet and mini fridge was not working in my room, which is the negative side. Close to Mons station and shopping centre in walkable distance. All good!
We have stayed at this property numerous times and had never had a bad experience before this one. We were delayed arriving due to traffic but called ahead to let them know we would be arriving late. Upon arrival there was nobody at the desk and we waited for a few minutes before looking in the bar. At this time the front desk clerk stop socializing with people at the bar to help us. When we got in our room we thought it was odd that the shower didn't have a door but we just wanted to sleep. In the morning i attempted to take a shower, that only lasted a minute or two because my girlfriend yelled at me that the room was flooding. The shower was not draining at all and the water was flowing away from the drain soaking the carpet in the room. We attempted to dry the carpet to the best of our abilities and when we picked up the towels they were brown and orange. It's clear that the carpets in that room hadn't been washed in sometime. I'm not saying we wouldn't stay there again because we hadn't had a bad time there until now. But something needs to be done about that room for sure.
Nice hotel but has a lot of construction going around. Gym equipment needs renovation.

I've loved every Van Der Valk I've stayed at! The rooms are always beautiful and spacious, the restaurants are great and have a variety of dishes, and the bar is awesome!
The property was nice, modern, comfortable. Rooms were nice sized & comfortable. My only complaint was that I was charged a different base rate (Higher) than I reserved on Expedia. This is problematic when you book a rate that is within your corporate allowance, and then are charged more at check out.
This hotel was a disappointment wrt service. It is one of those cases where management has forgotten to impress upon the employees that they actually work for the hotel guests and not the other way around. So hotel employees squeeze in in front of you in the elevator, ignore your orders, actually ignore you completely in the restaurant and at reception. Particularly if they know you will speak English to them, as most of them speak only Fremch.
