Rain Rain go away…. Not inside no not inside!
I love the hotel. The staff was amazing. However, when I got back to my room, the rain outside was raining into my window. Water was pouring in from the top left and all down the left side of the window as I looked outside. Water was running into the AC unit under the window. I called down and was able to get more towels from the front desk clerk so I could clean up the water mess. My family works in construction so I notice more than some people might. There was paint leaking and mold growing under and around the paint I. The top and on the left side. There was also black mold showing through the caulking on the bathtub. Abate the black mold, seal windows with appropriate caulking or Flexseal clear, repaint inside around window and abate the black mold in the bathtub. Those are easy enough to repair. However I do realize that my room isn’t the only room that needs repair. It is costly. Without repairs being made, the dripping/pouring water could have shorted out the A/C heater unit. If I lived closer, I would come and repair Room 206 where I stayed. One desk clerk and lobby full of people. She did a great job, on March 16th and tried to be efficient and quick with everyone. She apologized for the leaks in my room and gave me the two towels. I assured her that I could clean up the water mess by myself since she was swamped.

Hotel has issues with hot water
I stayed at this property in December 2021 and my room had no hot water. I reported it each day of my 4 day/3 night stay and each day the desk clerk assured me they were working on it. After 3 days, they finally fixed it. I tried the hotel again in March 2023 expecting that they had fixed the problem - or that it was a one-time event. Not so. My room was without hot water again. After 2 days, they were able to fix it. The clerk said they'd gotten new boilers and they were still learning how to work them. I'm not sure how they can stay in business if they can't provide hot water for their guests. Other than that, it's a nice hotel. The staff were all friendly and kind.

Disappointed
Upon arrival another occupant informed me the water was off. The front desk rep stated it was back on and would take 15 minutes for water to heat up. Forty-five minutes later the water flow was extremely slow and the toilet didn't fill up. We were offered a SMALLER room with the same water issues vs the suite we reserved. Hours later the water issue got resolved. The cleanliness of the room was horrible. Breakfast was extremely horrible. Rubbery eggs, yogurt not stocked, pancake machine empty, coffee tasted like dirt. Other occupants were complaining about the joke called breakfast.

Belligerent General Manager
Started out very pleasant. The hotel was clean and located near the lake. Then the second day we lost water pressure for about 8 hours or more and we couldn't take showers or use water of any kind. That got fixed, and I gave room for an unforeseen issue that happened. I asked for a late checkout for Sunday as we were doing work in the local area for a church. The church did not adjourn until 12:00pm and we would not be able to return until 12:15. He told me, "I'm sorry, check-out is at 11:00 and I cannot extend you past noon. I re-iterated my situation and that I would likely be back by 12:15 and could checkout by 12:30. He said "no" or we will need to charge you for another night stay with the credit card on file. In disbelief that he say that, I then politely tried one more time, emphasizing that I pay thousands of dollars a year and stay in Holiday Inn Express hotels all across the country for business. Still, he would not budge, so I asked to speak to the hotel manager. He then informed me that he was the hotel's, General Manager. It really made me sad for Holiday Inn Express that they had this unmoving beligerent GM working for them. It's a nice hotel, but if you have any issues and need to talk to the GM, let him know his reputation precedes him on the internet reviews.
