Southampton Inn

I especially enjoyed the quaint and homey nature of the inn along with the fact that it was convenient to several key landmarks (both with and without a vehicle). My lone point of contention is with the lack of a late check out. I doubt they were booked solid and they could have allowed me to stay until early afternoon (since the LIRR does not have an indoor waiting facility and they are not plentiful with their ways of getting back to other parts of New York).

The room was very clean and comfortable

The hotel was very clean. I was a little disappointed when I learned the restaurant was not open for dinner, because it was off season. I wish it was posted. Otherwise extremely clean, friendly staff will go again in season.

The staff were very accommodating, the rooms were clean and cozy. I requested two rooms near each other and it being a holiday weekend the staff said they would do their best. We were able to have connected rooms! Rupert the cat is a wonderful host.

Some staff attending at the front desk were quite rude.

The room was fairly comfortable, and I really only used it to sleep in. I had several issues that honestly shouldn’t have existed for the price I was paying for this room. To be honest, it’s a bit crazy that I have to write about these things. My shower would not stay hot, and would go down to being luke warm. It also had poor pressure. Come on. Also, the blinds wouldn’t close properly, and only one of the windows had curtains, so I couldn’t do anything about letting the sunlight in in the morning. My mini fridge didn’t work, and I found out this on my last night, so my steakhouse leftovers spoiled. Also, the bedsides alarm clock went off at 6 AM, and it took me several tries in my hungover state to try to fix the issue. Tbh, I won’t be coming back. For nearly $400 a night, and a mandatory 2 night stay, these things shouldn’t be happening! Also, the pictures make the rooms look way nicer than they are in reality.

We stayed two night, and were perfectly happy with it. A friendly, well designed place with good bedding, etc. Excellent value.

The room was clean. No service whatsoever. Hotel staff was barely visible, much less attentive. Public spaces were abandonded and there was no real sense of service other than the room. Disappointed that there is a “resort fee” when it’s little more than a motel.
