Profile: Historic Charleston

Profile: Historic Charleston

Historic Charleston, situated at the heart of the city, is a true vision of the Old South. Horse-drawn carriages can still be heard clip-clopping across cobblestones, while locals sip mint juleps on bright white verandas.

The Waterfront Park covers over 1,000 feet along the coast, and its multitude of fountains offer both a place to cool off on a hot day, and spectacular light shows at night. Before you go, make sure to pick up a souvenir. You’ll find pottery, hand-woven goods, homemade jellies, and more at the Charleston City Market.

    Simply wonderful

What a pleasant surprise. This Inn was so quaint, walkable to everything, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the “Inn” touches in the main lobby area and garden area. They offered bottle water, trail mix, and a whole happy hour complete with mini wine bottles, and charcuterie. I am so grateful we found this accommodation and are trying to plan a trip back already

    Would recommend a stay!

Very comfortable stay in great location. Enjoyed the complimentary water, tea/coffee, snacks and the wine with cheese and fruit in the afternoon was extra special. The free parking onsite was also convenient.

    Not a good stay

Needs lots of Upgrading. The carpet is filthy I didn’t even want to step on it with my bear feet! The bathtub had mildew in it between the shower doors. It was very hot and stuffy on the balcony! And when I checked out they never gave me a receipt. This hotel would be wonderful if they would upgrade it it’s in the heart of everything in Charleston!

The Indigo Inn was a pleasant place for brief visit to Charleston. The location is excellent for walking to nearby places to eat, drink, shop, and site see. The building is very charming, with a lovely courtyard to sit and relax and enjoy the amenities. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful, and provided many great recommendations. The room was comfortable, but felt a little drab and dated. The A/C unit was rather noisy, but not too disruptive, otherwise the room was quiet. Overall it was a great place to stay.

    Not Dog friendly.

Location excellent. Hotel room average. Staff very pleasant. The problem is there is no dog area for them to relieve themselves first thing in the morning. When asked, the receptionist said to just walk them until a residential street and there’s patches of grass around the streetlight poles or trees at the side of the road. Not fun when your pup needs to go out and it’s dark. The closest park is about 4 blocks away. 😞

Clean & comfortable in a central location!

The room was clean, attractive, comfortable. It’s clearly been renovated. The courtyard was a wonderful, attractive place to have drinks and breakfast. Lots of cold bottled water available in the lobby along with coffee and tea. Wine & appetizers in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Lobby space is very limited so you’ll want to eat in the courtyard. Staff was very friendly and attentive and parking was very convenient. Most of the lamp lightbulbs were out in our room but we only stayed one night and didn’t request it to be resolved. Air conditioning was super noisy but didn’t keep us awake. Love the historic feel of this inn and location is central. We’d stay again!
