The location is absolutely perfect 👌! But the hotel needs a renovation. People managing the place are very nice, but you can compensate so much..,
The lawn and beach are the reasons to stay at this hotel. The rest of the facility leaves much to be desired. There was black mold in the tile in the bathtub/shower, the room decor was dated and the general structure was in need of maintenance. Checking in after 10pm means finding an envelope with your name and then locating the corresponding lock box. Additionally, in the information published on the Expedia site the hotel was listed as pet friendly. When I arrived,in bold lettering was a “No Pets” sign.
My husband and I stayed in the hot tub suite for our anniversary and made the best of our stay during that time. At first glance the place is quite nice, but you are pretty much paying for the lake access. Rooms are clean, but the courtyard and chairs could use some serious cleaning and maintenance. Cobwebs and cigarette butts everywhere. Broken chairs. The shower will go from comfortable to freezing cold in a split second and then you turn the knob the slightest degree it will cook you like stew. Coffee pot didn’t work properly And there was no breakfast or coffee offered at all. The only vending machine was completely out of beverages. There are no restaurants in the hotel, but the many grills they boast about having are three grills in a small row on the edge of the property, not spread out at all. Despite the cigarette butts all over the courtyard expect to feel like a delinquent child if they catch you smoking in the courtyard. Apparently the only place you can smoke is a single small picnic table situated in the farthest corner of the parking lot right next to the road. The fan in the room is controlled by the thermostat on the wall so it blows all day super cold, when the sun is out, and not at all at night. The only way to block out the noises from traffic and upstairs is to blow the fan on full blast but you only get about five minute increments every two hours or so so prepare for sleepless and warm nights, no matter what temperature you set it to.
Great location, great beach, great lawn, and well appointed room. Generous sized beach compared to neighbors, jet ski and boat rentals next door, market and good food across the street. Pirates Cove a 3 minute walk away. First floor rooms have direct access to generous well manicured lawn with tables and umbrellas. Perfect getaway spot!
Expensive for what you get, Dusty, dead bugs everywhere. Staff was friendly and polite needs renovation 90 era.
The outside patio had breathtaking views. I suggest staying on the patio floor so you can walk out to the beach
Very nice staff. Very clean and updated for an older building.
Pros: Clean and comfortable Friendly and helpful staff Nice grounds Cons: Bathroom dated and small, but it was clean.
The property itself is beautiful with nice spots to look out on the water. However, the staff weren't the most friendly or helpful. When we asked for two extra pillows, we were told that we couldn't have any pillows. Then, 30 minutes later without warning and with a Do Not Disturb hanger on the door, a staff person knocked on the door with a couple pillows. This along with a couple other incidents did not make for a welcoming atmosphere.
We thought we were getting a lake view room only to find out that the room we got was facing the parking lot. The sink in the bathroom would't drain and the jets on the tub in the room didn't work.
