Verbally assaulted and frightened
The stay started off great with us being upgraded when we arrived. We liked it so much that we decided to stay an extra day. The trouble came when the security guard in front of the hotel verbally assaulted my wife. She was waiting for a tuk tuk and he started screaming at her in her face. He was asking her where she was going and were making rude comments about her size. He berated her until the tuk tuk drove off while others nearby laughed. She was scared and devastated by the experience. When she told the front desk, there wasn't anything done. The manager asked to speak with us, but never showed up, as we were leaving early the next morning. We've traveled to 30 countries and have never had an experience like this. What started off as a great time was ruined. If it were a random person, we'd shrug it off, but this person worked for the hotel. Her sense of safety was shaken. We'd never stay here again.

Lovely colonial building in great location

We got the 2 bedroom presidential suite and it was fantastic. Views were outstanding, looking over the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship monument, the nearby Mekong, and two city squares. Centrally -located within walking distance of the palace, independence monument, street food, restaurants, and two huge squares. Extremely clean property. Staff were amazing. Really helpful, from assistance with medical emergency, to exchanging larger currency for smaller bills, to extending our stay. The hotel has a lot of charm. Delicious welcome drink available throughout the day. Very well-priced 5-star restaurant.
