    This place had no hot water for two days; The staff only informed us of the lack of hot water after we had completed the checking process. They assured us that the issue would be resolved within two hours. We checked in on 7/9/21 and the hot water wasn't repaired until the morning of 7/11/21 when we were checking out. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite on the 11th floor. This is supposed to be the best suite in the hotel, but it did not appear as shown in pictures. The wifi was not working in the master-bedroom of this suite. They force you to wear wrist bands and sucurity has to clear you through every section of the hotel even to get breakfast. The breakfast was horrible. Keep in mind we paid $278 per night. I booked my reservation through expedia and im still in the process of requesting a full or partial refund. I travel to 12 countries a year, 1 every month and i have to say this has been the worst hotel experience i've ever had. I had better experiences in hotels in Uganda than I did at Wyndham Rio de Janeiro.

    4 star- just about

    We booked one of the best 2 bedroom/2 bathroom ocean view/balcony and the room was lovely except a kettle, cutlery, plates and glasses would have been useful as we had a kitchenette with dining table and chairs.There were just 2 wine glasses, 2 cups and an ice bucket and that was it. The fridge was too small and there were small ants which lived next to the sink in the groutwork. The breakfast was lacking and remained the same every day. The hotel staff were very good. The pool was a good size but had a lot of mosquitos around and in the toilet areas. The taxi service outside the hotel was not good, we booked one trip and they took us to the wrong place, even though we showed it to them on google maps and it was only 10 mins away and a well know tourist attraction. The taxi booked for the airport transfer was very good, via HotCoop. The RioLine Tour, also advertised and booked via the Hotel, to Christ The Redeemer, was terrible.Our 4 hour trip took 7 1/2 hours with approx. 6 hours in a bus, 5 hrs of which were in a really old, non a/c badly driven mini bus with no suspension or seat belts. The beach is good across the road apart from all the bits of rubbish in the sand. Reclining chairs and umbrellas only that are collected in at 5pm! Sun loungers would have been much better. There was no toilet on the beach. The road is very busy and you can hear the traffic through the night if you have a front facing room. The hotel shop is very good for health foods, water etc.

    The listed amenities and the location across the street from the beach was great. Unfortunately the condition of the property, housekeeping, overall poor maintenance caused us to switch hotels during the middle of our stay. One person in our party got sick (exacerbation of asthma) from the mold she experienced over the 4 day stay as we waited for AARP to transfer our accommodations. This star level of this property should definitely be reclassified and we all strongly recommend that AARP remove this property from the listing.

    I’ve stayed at this property when it was Sheraton and Radisson. I’m so sad to say, my favourite hotel in Rio has declined greatly in standards, service and comfort. The property needs a massive overhaul and refurbishment to maintain value at their current price point or reduce the nightly rate to reflect the substantial decline in standards and service. At current standards, I would be prepared to pay £30 a night for a room, including if resort fees.

    EXCELLENT

    Great location, very close to beach. We had a car and it was sooo convenient to park. They charged 25R a day to park ($6 American), which was SOOO worth every penny. Parking in and near the area is next to impossible, so this was invaluable. you can come and go with the car as you please.

    Barra has better hotels than this one and cheaper!

    Run down hotel, that used to be a Sheraton. Don’t be swayed by the pictures! Found a cockroach in my room and management never responded to my claim. Very old bed sheets so worn down that they had holes. The worst part was poor decision making by hotel staff to allow a group of guests party and drink right along side the kids pool. There goes the family atmosphere that my wife and kids were looking for... Breakfast was poor, similar to a 2-3 star hotel. Luckily the privately owned cafeteria, La Frutería, within the hotel premises, was very good despite having to pay additional to the hotel rate that should’ve included a good enough breakfast. Hotel fireworks on New Year’s was the only highlight of the stay.
