The Redstone Inn is a beautiful historic mansion in downtown Dubuque, IA. The Inn was clean, but you could tell there was some upkeep that needed to happen. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the bathroom vent fan in our room didn't work (which could be attributing to the peeling) and the TV wasn't hooked up to the Internet, so we couldn't watch anything. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
Nothing, looked like a horror house. Tried to cancel 2 weeks before and they wouldn't let me.
This was a unique place. Busy street kept us up while trying to sleep but the food was amazing and we were greeted with a smile
Robert is a great host.
Very nice house, but really needs some improvments. Robert was really nice and made a wonderful breakfast.
Very historic and nice service.
One of the coolest hotels I’ve stayed in. Professional service. Clean environment. Antique atmosphere.
It is so sad when a beautiful historic hotel falls into disrepair and no one does anything about it. There was duct tape holding seams of wallpaper together. A chunk of plaster was sitting on the window sill. The lace curtains were torn. The ceiling had obviously been patched to cover water damage. Outside chunks of the concrete steps were broken and dangerous to walk on. The innkeeper did not wear a mask and refused to give me a receipt insisting my confirmation was my receipt. I tried calling to confirm my reservation ahead of time and the 2 phone numbers I had were not in service. When I finally emailed the innkeeper, I was told I had to either text or email. The location was good for us and the breakfast was good but we would never stay here again. Such a shame because the hotel had such potential.
Overall this was a very nice stay in a historic building in Dubuque. The builing could have used a few updates but that sort of added to the nostalgic feel.
The owner shared the history with us over our breakfast the next day. Enjoyed hearing the history.
