Wonderful! More water pressure for the showers would you nice but we understand. Not a big deal at all. Probably helps conserve water.

Charming little spot right on the bay. While it could use some updating, it’s a 1960s-era beach lodging...set your expectations appropriately.

Ideally located, adorable, and clean!
We have a home in Akumal and needed to stay somewhere else while some work was being completed. We booked Akumal Caribe and it was unexpectedly fantastic. The service is excellent, the food options are delicious, and the location is perfect! Highly recommend!

Great choice for families!
We had a great time! We stayed in Room 405 right by the pool and beach during the first week of April. We drove over to Half Moon Bay for comparison and agreed Akumal Bay is better for families. Our kids are 9 and 11. We also visited Tulum ruins and Garden of Eden cenote. We heard Xel-Ha is fantastic, but didn’t feel the need to spend the money when we were so happy at the hotel. The beds are not very soft, but that is a typical Mexican hotel in my experience. The AC worked great! There was a large jug of cold water and a mini fridge. There is an OXO and a grocery store right at the hotel restaurant, so we stocked up to save some cash. The OXO has an ATM. Oh, and don’t worry about the seaweed. The staff works hard to clean it up daily and it’s pretty soft anyway.

Love las tortugas!
I splurged at this incredible for one night of my travels through the Yucatan. It was perfect, steps from the beach and a very large pool. I come to swim with the Tortugas right off the beach. Quick tip: if you didn't bring your own snorkeling gear, by all means rent from the stand on the beach, but you do not need to join one of the "tours", just go into the water and you will find the tortugas. Delightful, and when I say splurge, if this place was in the US and comparable, it would be easily $500 a night. I had a cottage and it was a tad over $200. A real splurge! BTW, this place would be PERFECT for honeymooners. One night, walk into the pueblo and have dinner at Gilley's Tequilaville.

Peaceful holiday by the beach
If you’re planning to go for a relaxing and quiet holiday choose this place. Our room was only few meter away from the sea. 😊

Great hotel
Had a great time. The grounds are well maintained and the staff and security was excellent. The only downside was the seaweed. We went in early May and the seaweed was built up on the beach throughout Akumal. The smell was tough at times. The hotel was excellent though. Loved it!
