Motel One Edinburgh-Princes

Location is the only positive about this hotel.My family and I stayed here for 1 night.We were so thankful we had not booked our full stay here while visiting scotland as the hotel was absolutely freezing.I know it was the 1st of February but surely they can increase the overall temperate when its so cold outside.We had arranged to meet our Scottish family in lobby but could not enjoy as it was so uncomfortably cold.As we had an early start in the morning we did not want to leave hotel.However we ended our night early as it was just to cold.I approached the barman about how cold it was and he even agreed and said nothing he could do.He even passed comment by saying he wished he was allowed to wear a jacket.When leaving bar to go to bed we were rudely called upon and told to pay our bill.My father was highly embarrased and annoyed by this as full bar bill had been paid.He continued to dispute this with us and because my father paid in cash he was unable to verify transaction.When we explained it was paid to barman that had just finished his shift and we suggested he call him or check cctv he said thats fine then i will follow up with his colleage.Not even an apololy.On checkout in the morning I complained at reception about how cold we were previous night and about the hassle at bar.He was not one bit bothered and no apology again.I booked this hotel for location and that was the only positive I can give.No atmosphere unfriendly staff,v.poor breakfast and extremely cold.

friendly staff, fast check-in / check-out, very clean, central location

Excellent checkin experience. Although I was early, I was able to get in my room straightaway which much appreciated on a sub-zero temperature, snowy day during Beast from the East! Reception staff friendly and helpful. Great location, just at Waverley rail station, near tram and airport bus stops, near shopping and very central location for sightseeing and dining. Room was very attractive and large. The bathroom was very good and very clean. It was very quiet. I stayed 2 nights. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very clean hotel. Great location. The most comfortable beds ever! Rooms very very small though, uncomfortable for two people. No wardrobe area to pack away into left the room feeling smaller. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

We originally booked for 2 nights but checked out after one as they put us in a disabled room and never told us when we asked if we could move they said they were booked up so we moved to a lovely hotel.

Incredibly clean and comfortable. The employee on reception/bar was very helpful and took great pride in his work. The location is unbeatable for Edinburgh.
