I got in town on a business trip a few hours early and she wanted me to wait outside in the cold and February until my room is ready, which was 5 hours later and stead of letting me go in the lobby to wait until my room was ready. But one of the other lady came in she told me that I could go downstairs and wait, but I had already called me an Uber by then and found another hotel to go stay at until my room was available.

Right from the start everyone was super friendly! Easily one of the cleanest and nicest hostels I’ve seen. Would definitely stay again!

Very clean restrooms, near all kinds of land transports, and good stores and restaurants in the vicinity.

It was my first time staying at a hostel versus a hotel, and I traveled 5+ hours from home to a concert in Chicago. I was exhausted when I got to the location, checked in around 1am, maybe a little later. The lady working the desk was super nice and check in was smooth. Rooms are just big enough to get some sleep and have some free space. Had a little space heater in there because it's chilly. Blankets and bed were comfy. Bathroom was nice and easily accessible. Would recommend to anyone staying a night or two in the area.

I really liked the dorm like feel the hotel gave, as well as the bag storage.

The Wicker Park neighborhood is very nice, vibrant, plenty of food and drink options, feels safe. Holiday Jones is right at a Blue Line stop and is one of few lodging options in Wicker Park. The price was very good for a private room w/ bath, though the room is very basic (e.g., no shampoo, make your own bed with the linens provided, just stools to sit on). Probably wouldn't stay in the room with 2 people, as it is really small. I'm 61, kids were staying in the dorm rooms but didn't seem overly rambunctious, and they honored the posted quiet time.

This place is really great but there are definitely a few things I wish I had paid closer attention to when booking. We had a private room with a private bathroom but it's really bare bones. Bring everything with you for a stay here: hair dryer, soaps, etc. The toilet paper was tissue-paper thin and pretty rough. You've gotta put the sheets on your bed yourself and it got a little chilly at night but the front desk is manned 24/7 and they'll adjust your temp for you if you need (we realized this too late but the info was definitely given to us upfront). Now, the positives! We really loved this little spot. It's in an INCREDIBLE neighborhood close to amazing food, great bars, and a TON of cool, local shops. The beds were comfy, the room was really cute, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The staff was so kind and lovely. I also really enjoyed having the coffee shop in the lobby for a little morning brew. I'd absolutely stay here again in the future. I was so impressed with the quality for the price and in the future I'd just make sure I brought all my toiletries with me for a more luxe stay :).

    Marathon Weekend

My husband and I were in town for the marathon and needed a place to stay that wasn't downtown and $$$$$. We had a cute bed with bunk beds and a locker/dresser to store our things. Sharing a bathroom is doesn't provide the same freedom as having your own - but that said it was well kept and we rarely had to wait for a shower or to use the restroom. We were a little cold the first night, but asked for additional blankets and were comfortable the second night. Staff at the front desk were all very pleasant. Full kitchen in the basement was great!! And empenada restaurant in the front lobby was a fun treat. Overall very good stay.
