Good 6.0
Good location. The three elevators are painfully slow. No desk in the two queen bed room I stayed in. They brought up a tray table for me. The staff were very responsive and pleasant. No sundries shop so if you wanted to buy something to eat or drink at any time during the day you had to order from the restaurant or buy a can of diet coke at the bar for $4.53.

Exceptional 10.0
Magnificent view and service
The staff here are superb. From the Bell-person to valet to front desk, they were all super friendly and helpful. Girlie from the front desk upgraded us to an amazing corner room with incredible views of SF. 4 of us slept comfortably in 2 queen beds, and we had amazing pizza take out (I know why the pizza take out? But this one was really amazing) in the room and it was fabulous to just be the 4 of us and relax in the room for a change during our road trip. I have been to SF many times and this place is a winner. I will definitely come back again. If I could ask for something to make it better, an indoor or rooftop hot tub and pool would make this hotel over the top!

Great place to see the city!
Great overnight stay as we were seeing a show at Masonic Auditorium. Easy to walk to many restaurants/bars/hotels, Grace Cathedral, Chinatown, Union Square. However, it's up a steep hill so beware you can't make that trek in heels. They do have parking for $62/night, otherwise the Sutter/Stockton public garage a few blocks away is $36 per night. We enjoyed our free glass of wine/beer with check-in, and actually ate at the bar/restaurant in the lobby. The snacks were good but my entree was so salty I sent it back. They were very good about it though, and offered another right away, and didn't charge for it. Service was great.
