Hilly Launceston
A basic B&B. Had everything it said in the description. No extras like in a lot of B&Bs. As pretty common around Tasmania, we couldn't link up to the router for the WiFi. Then got the WiFi in the morning as we were leaving. Lucky our phone had Mobile data. Small TV but adequate. A long way up a steep hill but lucky to find 2 1/2 blocks downhill a great restaurant on George Street. Was surprised to find the continental breakfast with fresh fruit salad and yogurt. Only orange juice on offer, but this was fine. Plain but filling breakfast. Friendly hostess.

Some tlc needed!
The location was convenient for us. The room was looking tired and in need of redecorating. It was a cold winters afternoon and the room was not pre warmed so it was very cold and the heating was inadequate. The bed was too firm but warm enough. Service on arrival was good.

OK stay
It was OK but very overpriced compared to the 2 other places we stayed in on this trip. The room was very small and we had trouble finding a place to put our cases. The bed was comfortable and the shower was quite good. The continental breakfast was nice and served in a very pleasant little breakfast room. The position of the hotel was very good and close to the city centre. Car parking was limited and one night we had to park in the street.

Hillview House for 4 nights
Has a lot of character, comfortable bed and clean rooms. Breakfast was good with a nice view

Exceptional 10.0
Great stay at Hillview House
Clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast, fairly close walking distance to town centre and Cataract Gorge and other amenities. Parking was difficult on site as hotel had 10 rooms but only 4 on site spaces. Owner said to park in street which was also difficult because those spaces were also snapped up. It meant you might have to park a long way from the hotel, which was half way up a very steep hill, making it hard to carry luggage. Hotel should ask patrons to book on site parking so that you know you have secured one as people with restricted mobility or other issues may be seriously disadvantaged.
