Good hotel
Hotel is in a really good location centrally to explore Amsterdam. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They allowed us to leave bags in the luggage room before check in and after check out for the s”day which was great. Was clean and tidy, basic but fine as a base to explore from with lots of food outlets/shops on the same street.

This wasn’t by any means a luxury hotel but I kind of loved it. The road is pretty party-heavy at night but we couldn’t hear it at all even with the windows wide open. Note: This road is known for its sex shops and a block over is definitely part of the red light district. I just thought it would be interesting to stay in the very old part of Amsterdam; luckily a coworker mentioned it beforehand so I knew. You check in at the bar and walk through to the back to get into the hotel portion of the building. The room was small and we had four beds for the four people in my family. Overall it felt safe and pretty clean. (I’ve stayed in scary, loud, and filthy hotels in “party” areas before; this was so much better.) The building is close to Amsterdam Centraal and backs up to a canal (which some rooms face). The street in front is narrow, cobbled, and full of pedestrians. The bar cat is particular about where you pet it.
