Room and hallway smelled musty and were dirty, HORRIBLE water pressure in shower, parking gates were a nightmare and very rarely worked with room card causing major delays, the water slide is ONLY open on weekends and only one pool open. Complete let down…I chose to stay here given all the great reviews and for the water slide for a fun family vacation. Staying at this resort is the only part I wish I could’ve changed. Of all the beautiful resorts in Orlando do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

Excellent hotel with great amenities and staff!

Everything was great at Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Every staff member we encountered was above and beyond friendly and helpful. The room was exactly as described in the pictures, it was plenty of room for three of us. I would say if you have more than four people in one family suite it would be a little tight, especially with only one toilet. The entire property was clean and well-managed, the beds were comfortable, the room amenities were good, and it was easy to navigate even though the property was large. We had park tickets so we utilized the bus transportation which was amazing, always on time, and the best part we never had to wait. The pool and lazy river was excellent, but the pool which had the water slide was closed the entire stay, I'm not sure why, but it only seemed to be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Overall, this was an excellent place to stay, I would stay here again for the ease of accessing the parks and for the hospitality of all workers. Just a reminder, parking overnight is $18 a night, which we knew going in, it was not a problem to pay.

    Great Value Resort with amenities

Check-in was fast and easy even though I heard nightmares about long lines in previous months. I understand they are short staffed so some amenities were operating on shorter hours such as the lazy river, but they really did their best and opened every day at said time. The bowling was fun, food expensive but typical of a resort but decent. My only complaint was the Atomic Tonic pool was closed during the week due to short staffing, but so was the bar. Pool staff/lifeguards were super chill and friendly and realy stick to their "safety routines". This was my 2nd time staying and I'd stay again for sure! They also let you pool hop at other US resorts but we didn't have time so if your unhappy with one pool open, then there's always other options.

Cabana Bay - the best launch point for HHN!

Cabana Bay is our go-to resort for Halloween Horror Nights. We love staying there. It's a great family resort. The theming is excellent, and the food choices are quite decent. Proximity to the parks as well as the use of the shuttle buses are can't be beat for convenience. We enjoyed a nice, quiet day in the pools before getting ready for our crazy evening at HHN. We so highly recommend this place!

    Average Stay

Average Stay. Rooms are very small & overall staff not as helpful as other resorts. Parking very limited during our stay. Even though we paid for parking coming back late from the theme parks meant that our paid parking lot was over full which left us nowhere to park. Staff's answer to this was keep driving around the resort until you find something. This was 11:30 pm. Why have paid parking for the resort if you are not guaranteed a spot in the designated parking lot or parking deck for your building. This is not the resort for our family.

    Hufe disappointment

Hotel was a little dated needs some touch ups. Pool was really salty from the sweat and urine im assuming. It was so salty someone called the main desk to ask if its a salt water pool.. fyi its nkt a salt water pool.. Food was good not really a big selection on food and its pricy which is expected for Orlando area. Pillows and blankets sucked our blankets had holes all over them. Transportation to Universal is near by 5 minute bus ride we never had to wait long. We checked in at 11.30 but our room wasn't ready until 5 pm so waiting hours was frustrating i even called twice to see how much longer it would be. They never offer a free pop free mral nothibg for my inconvenience.. i highly doubt i will ever stay at this resort and i wouldn't recommended it to anyone either

    Cabana Bay Orlando

My experience wasn’t very good. The line just to check-in on Friday was about an hour wait and it was like that for the entire afternoon and into the evening. The place is enormous, about 2200 rooms so if it’s a holiday weekend then they can get slammed and not have adequate capability to meet it. The breakfast area is like a mall food court or a college dorm and it was slammed in the morning also so I had to wait 20 minutes in a line for an option that wasn’t the most popular and had only a few options. The food wasn’t that good either and it was of course over-priced. The parking situation is ok, it’s $18 per night and there’s a structure close to the building. Guests can come and park for the day also for free. I was always able to find a spot, but a couple of times it was close to being full. The resort is mostly setup to park and stay for a while. There are paths to walk to City Walk or Volcano bay. Volcano bay is right next door which is real convenient but City Walk is about a half hour walk. There is a shuttle and water taxi also, but I didn’t use them. Other than the lines, the food options, and the cost, it was a decent resort. I guess 3.5 stars is accurate.

    Family Trip - Just OK

We checked in on Thursday with intentions on putting our stuff in the room and going straight to the pull with the water slides so the kids could play. While waiting in line to check in we noticed the pool and water slide was closed. This was not on the website. Check in lines were very long. When I approached the counter they were trying to get everyone to upgrade their rooms. Their for taking a lot longer to check people in. Wanted me to pay an extra $40 a night just for a pool room view. I kindly declined and she said I'll go ask a manger what we can do. They then offered it for $25 extra a night. Once again we declined. A pool view was not important to us. When we checked into our room it was clean but very hot and stuffy. 79 degrees - we lowered the thermostat to 65 by that evening it was still 79. Had to go to the front desk because no one was answering the phone. They had someone come up and look at it within 20 mins. He locked it so it would stay on and turned it to 62 from then on it cooled way down and was nice. I've been vacationing in Orlando all my life and for the money we have stayed at nicer resorts with more options. Don't think I would do a family trip here again. Pool area needs to be pressure washed especially by the water slide.
