8/10 Very good

Overall a good stay. But, on one of the days the cleaning staff did not clean the bathroom at all. Also, the outside canal seating area was unswept, full of spider webs, unpainted walls and unswept.

2/10 Poor

Shockingly bad hotel
The listing said parking available on site for an extra fee but the night before arrival they sent a message saying that parking is not available. I then had to book a carpark 40 minutes walk away from the hotel. Not good. We were on the third floor snd there is no lift and the stairs are very steep. Horrible to carry suitcases up the stairs. The airconditioner didn’t work in the room and it was too noisy to keep the window open due to tram noise. The room had a foul smell and there were lots of flies in the room. The smell was coming from the bathroom. There was low water pressure so didn’t get much of a shower. The shower curtain was so short that the whole bathroom filled with water from the shower. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty. Greasy dirt everywhere. The bathroom door was rotten at the bottom. There were toenail clippings and hair on the floor near the bed. The bed sheet didn’t cover the mattress. The bed was made from two mattresses. One side was higher than the other. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall and there were holes in the wall. The toilet was stained. The reception girl was rude when I complained about the parking issue. The breakfast room staff ( a lady from Mapoli in Italy ) was very nice. We had a nice chat at breakfast. Sadly I must say I feel we were cheated by this hotel. I highly recommend nobody stays there. You will be very dissatisfied just like we were. It spoiled our trip to Amsterdam.

2/10 Poor

No AC and very noisy
The hotel does not have AC and they give us 2 old fans with very low power . We could not open de window because is a bar next door , and people were taking and drinking very late . We ask for more fans and they did not have more . The breakfast was very poor . The location of the hotel was good . But I will no stay again in this hotel .

4/10 Fair

Expensive for standard
Really disappointed with my stay here. I didn't sleep at all and some of the basics of a hotel missing with regards to service. Constant noisy fan in the room that didn't turn off. Bed spilt apart and was really uncomfortable Reception sent me to my room with just keys to get in to the room but electricity required a card... Hall/ outside door in darkness and had to take out my phone torch to get into my room. Location good. Thanks

10/10 Exceptional

Great canal view
Be aware, there is no lift to reach the upper floors, just a spiral staircase which makes carrying luggage a challenge. The check in clerk did carry my wife's suitcase for her. The view of the canal from our second floor room was fabulous.

4/10 Fair

The hotel is in a great location situated between a tram and metro stop. Really easy to find, especially nice when you’re a tired traveler. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience with someone trying to gain access into my room at 5am. Quite unexpected, unnerving and scary. During checkout I reported the incident and was given an apology. Given the gravity of the situation, I expected more. So, I don’t know if this is a rare issue at this hotel but I would scroll by this one if I return to Amsterdam.
