Very good
The location is just perfect - especially if you want to see all top three art galleries, Reina Sofia is just outside of the hotel. I liked the room a lot, bed is comfortable. I realized that I got one of the biggest rooms available, so it was really appreciated. It is a comfortable, functional room, very simple, but perfect to stay for one night as I did. It was still quite expensive, but I guess Madrid is in general expensive.

Lack of Amenities
No Kleenex. Check at front desk and they gave us a roll of toilet paper. No water glasses in the room. All in one gel for hands, hair and body. Cheap. Towels are replaced every 2 to 3 days, sheets every 5 days. I have been in enough hotels to know the universal signal for clean towels is to put them in the bath tub or on the floor. Clean ones you leave on the rack. The towels the next day to reuse are still damp. Rude staff at the front desk. No one ever smiles when you come in or says Hi. Hair dryer did not work, problem with the wall plug, not fixed. No closet, just 6 coat hangers hanging on a rack. No chest of drawers. When we checked in we were told that this was one of the best rooms. Would not like to see what the other ones looked like. And no pen and pad of paper. Looks like management cut everything back to the bare bones. Other hotels, Ayer in Sevilla and Barcelona had everything this hotel was missing.

No lock? Not likely to stay again.
Stayed here on a quick overnight between flight arrival into Madrid and an early morning train out of town from Atocha the next morning. Location was pretty convenient to the train station so it served its purpose. The place is really bare bones, linoleum/plastic floors, not good soundproofing to hallways. Worst of all-- the room doesn't have a lock on the inside (bolt, chain) separate from the key access, so there's no real way to make sure it's locked to prevent entry of staff, etc. I would look at one of the many other hotels near the train station next time.

Art walk in Madrid
Hotel is in a great location almost next to the Atocha train station and the Reina Sofia and down the road from the Prado. I would stay again. The only issue was that there was a small gap at the bottom of the door that let in the corridor noise.
