Would definitely come back to this hotel, the food was great with good prices too. Nice view of the river while sitting outside. The room was brilliant and the hotel is in a good location, with free on-site parking too👍

    Wedding Based Stay

Overall our stay at the hotel was lovely. We know the area and the location is stunning. We picked the hotel as a base for our wedding in a nearby village (Gwytherin) and at the local Rugby club. I had asked for a specific room which I didn't get but I believe this was down to booking the room through Hotels.com. They automatically assign a room and the hotel didn't pick up on my special requests via the booking or the separate email but no matter the room was lovely just smaller than the one I wanted to have. The hotel were really accommodating when 11 bridesmaids turned up to getting ready with me and laid on room service for lunch which was lovely, even catering for Gluten Free. Downsides were just the mattress and shower. The water pressure in our room (no'.18) was very poor so the shower literally trickled and the mattress was as hard as the floor, obviously my tastes and it might suit someone else. I do believe that it has only just been taken over by new management so they are 'finding they're feet' so to speak and staff numbers were sporadic but those I did deal with were great. The food was was good too and I will definitely use it again. Picture are taken from the grunds of the Hotel.

    Hotel review

Lovely setting easy to get to where you need to be. Hotel its self could do with a lick of paint, but comfortable nice room, nice welcome, nice food but presentation of food could be a bit better, good breakfast, staff serving seemed a bit nervous not smiling. But all in all pretty good and probably would stay again.

    Nice friendly

Lovely location. Lovely area with lots of nice restaurants. Hotel was very nice and friendly. Breakfast eggs were very undercooked. But portions were plenty. We stayed in room 24 which was directly above the entrance to the hotel and the only complaint is that they did not switch the main lights off until midnight which meant out bedroom was lit up which was very hard to sleep in. Other than that great location.

    Road trip

The evening meal was ok , no better or worse than average bar food, which was somewhat disappointing as this was a large hotel. The room was very very noisy although this was not from the hotel but from a club or pub in the square nearby and went on until the early hours. The room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom.

Unclean. Looked like just opened up after lockdown and not touched. Insufficient seating in bedroom ( 1 stool for 3 people ) Staff not friendly or smiling. Breakfast was terrible, looked and tasted like it was all deep fried. We paid £110 for an upgrade room... joke !!
