Tough hotel in Midtown
We first got a small, dark room. We upgraded to a king-suite in the 11th floor - much better

Short walk from Bryant Park Subway(39th on 6th) is the point of entry and exit for the Hotel.Arrived to a bubbly friendly and humorous reception staff. Offered to join the happy hour at the bar on the the ground floor. Room upgrade occurred due to a special occasion and the Empire state building view was a special bonus. Room temp took a little while to get right but that was my issue as equipment worked perfectly. Huge comfortable bed.Nice lighting.Bathroom was nicely finished with some lovely fixtures and fittings. Bath and shower with great water pressure. Mini bar was a bit pricey so i stocked up with a visit to the Liqour store around the corner on 6th Ave(2min walk). Rooftop bar is a must visit. Good food and view. A vibrant bar with a mix or resident and non resident clientel. Room next door disturbed us a litttle with some late night partying but didnt go on for long. Would stay again....great location. Andrews Coffee shop on W35th St is a must for breakfast....

Exceptional 10.0
Perfect NYC hotel - Divinely masculine
The refinery hotel was exceptional. Tyler at the front desk ensured that we had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Our lunch recommendation was delicious. The bed was divine and the rooftop service & ambiance was the perfect was to safely enjoy a weekend with the nyc skyline view. The le labo products and their signature refinery candle filled the entire hotel welcoming you from the moment you walk in until the time you check out. I’m coming back for Christmas & cannot wait to enjoy all of the wonderful amenities! A+.

Very Good 8.0
Nice hotel, unremarkable stay
Room was larger than usual for NYC. Location was good, near lots of options with the subway. Rooftop bar was a bit pricey and the drinks mediocre. The bathroom was small and the sink incredibly clogged. Shower was good. Bed was super comfortable, remote for the TV didn’t work and when we asked for a new one, none ever showed. Not a bad place at all, but with so many options we probably would try something else next time.

From The moment I walked in the staff was kind, professional and accommodating. The hotel is quality and the rooftop restaurant was excellent. The room was spacious and clean and a quality bed and experience. Would stay here time and time again.

Good 6.0 did not say anything about the parking. Called the hotel and was told that there is a $55 Valet Parking for 24 hrs. On reaching the hotel waited for Valet and on no response went in and found there was no valet and the parking opposite to hotel was for the customers who booked directly with hotel. However after an hour of back and forth between reception and Parking garage. The hotel receptionist decided to provide a parking coupon. There is no room service and the room does not have a coffee maker.

We had a great family stay despite of covid restrictions. Great location near Bryant park. Big rooms. Amazing rooftop with view of Empire State Building. (Reservations only ) pet friendly. We will be back for our next nyc getaway. Thank you to the staff for making our stay really enjoyable.

Poor 2.0
Not the Place to stay
The parking garage was unable to take our vehicle and we had to pay out of pocket for a place much further away. There was no room service the entire time and we couldn’t go anywhere in the area as many places were closed. The hotel staff were not prepared or capable of assisting us. We were told to park in front of the hotel the first night due to a late check in and we got a ticket. Fortunately, the only thing that I can say sort of went well was that the hotel had claimed that they will be taking care of the ticket. We also made reservations for the rooftop restaurant, just a few hours before our reservation we got an email stating they no longer had a table for us. The hostess was able to get us a spot but much earlier. We were appreciative of the help we did get but frustrated by the trip entirely. The Refinery did not hold up to my expectations. The rooftop restaurant is also not a classy as it appears, it is a glorified sports bar at best and the food was average at best.
