Bank holiday getaway
Short notice booking. Good value for money and in the heart of Reeth. Terry was very welcoming and provided info about local area. Room was compact but clean and had all we needed. TV a bit small but only used for morning news so not really an issue. Loved having a jacuzzi bath but missed having an overhead shower. We didn't book the breakfast but it certainty smelled good.

Attractive Reeth
If you are looking to stay for a few days in North Yorkshire then Reeth as a center is a recommendation we are happy to make -atractive village. 3 pubs for an evening meal and the Arkleside G, H, is a lovely place to stay - breakfast very good and a room overlooking local countryside. Good rates too.

Basic but not good
The furniture in the room was a bit tired but provided tea & coffee and biscuits. The bottled water was a nice touch. The wardrobe is rather small and access to the chest of drawers requires you to bend or kneel due to its position. The sloping roofline and dormer window meant that a significant part of the room required you to crawl or bend; moving around the side of the bed was a difficult manoeuvre and we both hit our head several times! The Wi-Fi access in the room was good. The ad referred to a private bathroom but this was down several stairs and up a step and across a small landing. The bathroom had a great shower but it looks like the tiler ran out of tiles around the top of the shower cubicle. The towels were tired and worn, but the modesty bathrobes provided were good. The ad said that breakfast was available but we discovered that, although the Arkleside is essentially a B&B, it was a chargeable extra. The acid test is whether we would return and unfortunately the answer is no.

Well looked after
Great Guest House run by friendly couple. During our visit we were made to feel welcome and were well looked after, would stay again if in the area.
