I was going to a show the day after bike week. The town was trashed and tired after that week long event. To the hotel though....it is a bit misleading with the pictures online. I thought I was booking a hotel room right on the lake. However I was placed across the street in another building they own with "lake views". When we arrived they had just freshly shampoo'd the carpet...it was still wet and the chemical smell was so strong we had to keep both doors open just to air it out. The bathroom floor was sticky and we found poker chips, unidentifiable pills, and a full beer can that was left behind. Makes you wonder if all they cleaned were the carpets and changed the bed. All I wanted was a good night sleep, well I think some of the hotel crew lives in that building below our room. They were out in the parking lot grilling and listening to loud music past 11pm. I called the front desk at 10:30 and she said the man who works for them has already gotten a warning for being loud. I asked if there was a chance to move rooms the next day. She said they were pretty booked except for a small cabin that they would hold for us. She was very pleasant on the phone. I believe I spoke with a Michelle and Stephanie, both very nice and apologetic. When we woke up we both had scratchy throats and were congested from the chemicals. I ended up not changing rooms because I didnt want to deal with it, I was focused on the show. Staff was nice but the resort was disappointing.
