Great find, in a fab location.
We stayed one night at this hotel because we had got tickets to the Ministry of Sound event at the Royal Albert Hall which finished late and this hotel was very close (about a 15 min walk). We'd not been here before but the reviews seemed to be good. We were greeted upon arrival with a very friendly front desk who checked us in in minutes and told us everything we needed to know. The hotel is bigger inside than it looks, with a nice bar and restaurant and a very popular afternoon tea. We were upgraded upon check in and our room, a deluxe double was small but really nicely designed. The bed was big and comfy, there was a nice selection of complementary tea and coffees, biscuits, soft drinks and water available. And some macaroons left as a welcome gift. The staff were lovely - check in and out was the quickest and easiest I've had in ages! Highly recommend.

Very pleasant stay
The hotel was a great location for us, in South Kensington, across the street from the Tube station, and in walking distance to Holland Park, Chelsea, restaurants, museums etc. It was a short 15 min taxi ride to Paddington Station, which made for an easy commute from the airport on the Heathrow Express. The hotel was beautifully decorated, the staff polite and attentive. They had a lovely Happy Birthday treat for me the morning of my birthday, and later in my hotel room, that afternoon: very sweet! Would definitely stay there again, and would recommend them to anyone visiting West London.

It's the staff, it's always the staff.
I have stayed at the Ampersand many times now, and each and every trip has been thoroughly enjoyable. Special shout out to the bar staff on this occasion, who just added that touch of magic to the stay that made it really memorable.
