First the good parts.....spotlessly clean hotel, friendly staff, VERY comfy beds, great 17th floor bar/restaurant.
The bad parts.....arrived in the room and there's no shower gel in the shower, dialing 9 on the phone (which the information screen on the TV said was to reach reception) did nothing. So went down to reception and asked for shower gel, was told it would be brought up....IT NEVER WAS. Used the small amount of shower gel I was able to bring in my carry-on bag. The shower is a fantastic, big walk-in shower, the problem? No shower door so you have to point the showerhead into the corner and shower in the corner so as not to flood the bathroom (WHO DESIGNED THIS???). Also our room safe had been left in the locked position so was unusable, does no one check that on check-out? The following day the shower gel STILL hadn't been brought up so I found a cleaner in the hallway. By the 3rd day I hadn't had any room service so had to go down to reception (because the phone wasn't working) to ask for coffee/creamer sachets. (Ironically on day 4 had 3 knocks for room service!) After a heavy weekend we decided on a late-check-out. I rang reception from my mobile (because as you know by now the room phone wasn't working) and was told one was available, but I'd have to pay now!!! So I had to get out of bed to pay for a late check-out when the point was to be able to stay in bed!!! Would I stay again, no. Could the above be fixed with a small amount of care and attention, YES.
