Charming hotel, great food, beautiful location, comfortable bed and very friendly staff. The check-in process was a little disorganized but we are already planning our next stay as overall our experience was above our expectations.

An enjoyable stay
We stayed at the Wykeham Arms for a couple of days in Winchester. The service was always friendly, although they were clearly still finding their way with Covid-19 protocols. The room was very clean but could do with a refresh in a few areas and a few lightbulbs were not working, making it impossible to light the room well. Breakfast was delicious, although a greater choice of drinks and maybe some cereal/pastries would have been nice. Overall a really nice stay.

A taste of the 18th Century
The room was full of character like the 18th century pub across the road connected to it. Very comfortable and close to the cathedral.Lovely little washroom. A cold bedroom and a bit dark. I was disappointed by breakfast as I had made a special request. The experience is value for money. A classy Fullers restaurant part of it

Nice quiet place
Didn't eat in the pub but know it well, lovely quiet small place. Hotel rooms themselves are opposite - not part of the building. I had a small room, was lovely and didn't need anything else. Clean, very modern and quiet. Overall can't complain and would stay again

Very nice and cozy. A bit noisy since it’s so old. Charming little place

We'd stay again in a heartbeat!
We stayed across the street in a separate building. It was absolutely charming except the bed was incredibly soft. This is a matter of preference, I know. The duvet was thick and soft with a crisp white cover. So many places are going to these now. Unfortunately, there are only two choices, on or off. Can't just sleep with a sheet. Again, this it personal preference. The breakfast was good but it seemed like coffee was fetched across the street. Loved the vegetarian breakfast. We ate there one night and the pheasant was splendid. So hard to keep it moist and my husband enjoyed it. My simple shepherd's pie (they called it something else) was full of flavor, perhaps the best I've ever had. Everyone here was amazing. Great service, nothing was too much trouble.

A gem in the centre of town.
Great little Hotel/bar/restaurant in the centre of Winchester. The room was great, as was the evening meal and breakfast. It was very busy on arrival with local dinners resulting in difficulty to park and occupied staff a mediocre welcome. Overall a great stay I will be back.
