Good hotel, town centre. But parking quite a bit away, we arrived in rain & had done the block 3 times & checked out the handful of spaces that were all gone in the underground car park belonging to the apartment block attached. Breakfast room beautifully bright & overlooking the river. Builders hotel from the Celtic tiger, a bit hidgley pickledy inside. Rooms big & spacious.

I have never seen so many fire doors , there must be an awkward fire officer in Ballina ! The decoration in the hotel leaves a lot to be desired !

Location, location, location
A very well located good hotel within walking distance of town centre and railway station. It is only 100 yards from Ballina Arts Centre which we were attending.

Fair 4.0
Disappointing but not surprising
The room and b and b rate was not bad but this hotel is languishing. I have stayed there at least a hundred times in the past and it has been the same for years. There are about 6 underground parking spaces left, scarcely adequate for the large amount of anglers who stay there and have valuables fishing gear in their vehicles. The on street option is not really an alternative, I don’t believe that the hotel has its spill over car park any more. What annoyed me about this visit is as follows, there was no welcome at reception just a case of sign that and here is your key, no “have you stayed with us before?”, “had you a long journey”, “breakfast will be served between x and y tomorrow morning”. When I got to the room, there was a slot that required a key card to operate the electricity, I had to enter the room in the dark and use the torch on my phone. When leaving, I had the room paid for in advance, I returned the room key and the keycard that I had to request and there wasn’t even as much as a grunt from the otherwise preoccupied young lady at reception, no “was everything alright for you, we hope to see you again” type blarney. All rubbish I know but at least it leaves you feeling that your business was appreciated. Apart from the poor reception at reception, the other staff that we dealt with were lovely and friendly and polite, you expect nothing more from Mayo people who are generally an all round friendly and helpful bunch. The hotel has been like this forever

Good 6.0
TV only had 4 channels and one of those was French. The information booklet in the room stated alot more channels. The rooms are very dated and could do with a makeover. The breakfast was limited. Only 3 types of fruit and natural yoghurt available in that section
Bevin, ie1 night trip
Poor 2.0
Terrible - asked for double room - received two single beds pushed together of differant hight - went to complain and then asked to leave along with being told they would be charging us and did. It was obvious that the manager that handed the situation had no formal training as she could have turned turned the whole situation around if she was a people person
