Service not in line with 5-star
Let me start by saying the concierge was great and managed to book us a few hard-to-get reservations including Carbone with only about a week's notice. The service otherwise was not what I'd hoped for. We booked a suite and when we checked in, the front desk person -Jimm- could apparently not be bothered to look me in the eye or greet me. He literally said two words, "ID and credit card". The next day we ordered champagne to the room around noon and, when we tried to order another bottle at 1pm, we were told that room service would not open again until 5pm. In-room dining, the concierge, and the front desk all told us that they could not accommodate the request. I realize this sounds petty but when we're spending over $1000 a night we should be able to get a bottle of champagne at 1pm? Two nights later we were told there was no one to bring us cups, or ice. Granted it was very late, so I understand that staff is limited, but when someone DID agree to bring us ice...it was in two gallon-size ziplock bags?
We addressed these concerns with management as we were checking out, and they gave us a $200 refund, which was a nice gesture but I don't think we will stay here again.
