    Not a 5 star hotel

    The pictures is completely different to the reality. our room has a bad smell, cockroaches and flies loitering around, the amenities in the room are terrible and hardly clean. The service of the hotel staff is unprofessional, in short we are very disappointed with the experience and would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Essaouira

    Our stay was fantastic. The rooms are contemporary and luxurious with a spacious comfy bed. The view of the ocean was wonderful to wake up to each morning. The breakfast was sensational, with such a wide variety of healthy and naughty freshly cooked and cold treats. The facilities were great, we made use of the quiet, clean gym, the spa and the games room with table tennis, pool, chess etc. The pools were lovely (if a little chilly!) but great to have the choice of the two pools, the natural pool being a little quieter. We also walked to the beach one day, it was good to be beside the ocean. We found the free hotel shuttle into the city centre to be invaluable, although a little hot inside the shuttle the journey doesn’t take long and taxis in the evening are very cheap. The staff were very friendly and attentive, particularly the assistant manager Rachid who assisted us at the pool most days with drinks, towels etc. We are very pleased to have chosen such a wonderful hotel for our honeymoon!!

    After having been to many Sofitel's around the world, unfortunately, this one doesn't live up to the high brand equity Sofitel has. The hotel is a tad old and you'll be able to see that it hasn't been well-maintained. We're thankful to receive a complimentary upgrade to a golf suite as we were on our honeymoon but I wasn't impressed by the room a single bit. The room was indeed huge but it was a little bit too raw for my liking. Breakfast was pretty alright, nothing great. Point to note though is that this hotel is located quite a distance to the heart of Essaouira, so you'd either need to get a taxi or hop on the shuttle service which ends at 6 pm. Taxi drivers are pure scammers so please check your change before you jump off the cabs. Unfortunately, Essaouira wasn't too good of an experience for myself, so i'd probably not go back nor recommend this hotel.

    I just love everything, the staff were very attentive to needs, i needed an adapter to charge my phone and they brought it right away. The hotel was a really luxury experience, i just dont understand the negative reviews because i had the best time of my life and the facility was very beutiful with large rooms and space.

    Lovely hotel but needs a little attention to room decor and cleanliness. Hotel and rooms are high spec but so many little issues eg. Some lights not working bath privavy blind broken, needed someone to fix bath and shower, shower flooded, no info about hotel in room, coffee not replaced (had to ask 5 times befire it was replaced). Overall pleased but i would expect a little more from a 5* hotel, it has huge potential and is a great position it is just lacking the last 5% effort to make it a great hotel.

    Hotel was ok. Staff at reception seem a bit stuck up and try to talk down to you when checking in. Found them a bit patronising. Complained there were not enough towels, which more were brought and complained that the shower drain was not draining. This didn’t get fixed straight away. Bath looked run down in room so didn’t feel comfortable using it. Tables in one of the restaurants were battered and broken. Food was ok but buffet was three star food not five star. But still at five star prices. Breakfast for myself and my husband was forty pounds for per morning. Never got an option to include breakfast in my room price. There wasn’t much to do at the hotel, and you feel a bit stuck there when it rains. They have a spa really expensive, would have played golf but this isn’t included either.
