Great service, food was lovely.
A very welcoming stay at Carradale. Rhona the owner couldn’t do enough for me. Lovely home cooked food. Fresh cooked breakfast.

Well worth visiting this hotel
The hotel is older, and a bit tired, but we met the new owners (took over a few months ago), and you can tell they are keen to do great things with this hotel. The food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the gardens were gorgeous.

Home away from home
There were 5 of us staying in Carradale and we all agree that the hotel staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The food was tasty and plenty of options. In particular Robert and Alex were super friendly and helpful. Carradale is a beautiful gem of a place to visit. I would highly recommend The Carradale Hotel. Thank you to Rhona and her crew for such a splendid stay!

Mixed review - they do really try
Mixed review, staff were very friendly although there doesn't seem to be any reception point, or at least the staff are doing other things and when you ring the bell and then clang the ships bell someone appears and says I'll just be a few moments. We were shown to our room but she could not find the key so said she'd give that too us later, the kettle in the room did not have a base (with electric lead). I went down and she said, I thought someone had replaced that. Someone else nipped off to get a lead from another room !.. The window in our room did not open although there was a window key, the kettle delivery person was informed and said he'd go and check - no one ever did tell us the window didn't open. We had dinner there, was advised to book in so we did 1 hour before we wanted to eat. We went through to the restaurant (once we could find it - no signs). We were then told it would be a bit of a wait as they had a lot in the restaurant (there were 9 others) anyway we didn't mind waiting. The food was good although only just warm, a plate warmer is needed. Another couple had their meal delivered but were not given any cutlery. In the morning Breakfast was really good and enjoyable. We wanted to check out early - had to wait about 25 mins for someone to come and take payment. Was greeted with "I was suppose to be having the morning off" I felt like saying " sorry for inconveniencing you, I should have just left without paying"!
