6/10 Good

We got to the hotel late. We booked a premier room. The decor was slightly tatty, grout coming out, unpainted corners. For a three star hotel it is lovely, the building is gorgeous. With a little investment it would easily becomexax4 star. However our breakfast was terrible, the sausages and potato scone so hard we couldnt eat it, we also had to clear our own table ! And we paid £10 each for that!

4/10 Fair

Classic old property, facilities are just ok, but our room was disappointing, hate complaining, so we just got on with it, sadly after using the hotel many times over years we will be looking elsewhere on our next visit. Staff in the restaurant were good but the food was cold and not served to our party at the same time, it wasn’t that busy either.

8/10 Very good

Arrived Sunday night and stayed for 2 nights. If you’re there over the weekend then I would recommend eating downstairs in the cocktail bar area. Service was excellent. Monday night we ate upstairs food was good the service was friendly but a couple of items were forgotten by the staff (it was busy) but we weren’t billed for them. Breakfast both mornings was continental (informed beforehand) this was a bit disappointing as I do love a Scottish breakfast. The hotel was very pleasant to stay in and I would recommend it.
