OK but noise unaccessable
Staff were really good, new bar and restaurant looks nice, evening meal ok, cooked breakfast very nice. The room was large, basic but recently decorated and clean. My big issue was what looked like an air conditioning unit outside of the window which was ridiculously noisy. No way could you open the window, imagine having a hoover on in the cupboard. Thankfully went off at 11pm but came back on at 5am. It's ridiculous the hotel has done nothing about this. Shame really as it seems to be trying hard but let down by this

Beware of noise...
If you'd like a good night's sleep, DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 293. There is constant noise from a motor on the air-conditioning system. This is on all day from 6:30am until 10:30pm. If you stay make sure you have earplugs.

Great hotel nice Staff but noisey at night due to wedding which we were not informed about then kitchen staff woke us at 6am making lots of noise chatting and moving bins about we had to drive to motorway services to get some sleep .

Impossible to sleep
The hotel is a popular location for wedding. As consequence is impossible to sleep until 1am due to the dance music of the wedding. Better to check before booking

A pleasing stay.
The previous reviews were clearly before the bar and restaurant were refurbished as i found the stay very pleasant. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food was great. The rooms are dated and in need of modernisation but clean and functional.

In Transition, Has Potential to be good
I stayed at the hotel for about a week with my family booking other rooms. First night was in the courtyard, the mattress is very lumpy and you can feel the springs. The courtyard room is quit dated and dark but the shower was pretty good compared to the ones inside the main building. The rest of the stay was inside the main building, which recently has gone through a big renovation. It became clear during the stay that they are understaffed and the staff are new/not trained enough. I asked the friendly cleaning staff where the breakfast is served and she said she didn't know. Multiple times the front desk had nobody there and you need to wait. There is one person running around during breakfast and had multiple mornings where there was not enough utensils. Both me and my family members encountered stained bed sheets or towels in our rooms. Call ahead if there are weddings/events if you are a sensitive sleeper, noise levels go through the hotel and can be until 3am. The staff are very friendly and it is clear they are in transition now. They seem to be more focused on events/seminars and less on the experiences of the rooms. May need more time to figure out who their ideal customer is and build the experience for that type of customer. I would go again but would avoid the courtyard rooms.
